Sheffield U3A Art Group III

We are a relaxed, friendly group of ‘budding artists’ guided and tutored by Martin Field a retired art teacher with over 30 years teaching experience. We have explored pencil drawing, pastel, water-colour, and acrylic painting from a range of subject matter. This is not a rigid format and members are encouraged to follow their own path. Some members work on their own ideas, or we work on a common project. Martin can offer guidance and advice when it is needed. In summer we have sketched and painted outdoors in Sheffield and the surrounding countryside, weather permitting. So, if you want to discover a new hobby or rekindle an old one, come along; new members are welcome. Contact details for our coordinator are in the table below.
PS. Tea, coffee and possibly chocolate biscuits are available.

See what we get up to here in our BLOG. Members also have their own project folios

The traditional group fun activity, a montage for Christmas. This year we based it on a Flemish painting which , whilst it had a very festive feel and was very detailed with far too many figures, it was not at all easy to finish in the alloted session. Well done to all who took part.
Previous Christmas montages can be seen here
